Description

Full day trip exploring the regions to the East – 8.30am to 5.30pm

Step off the highway and into the heart of the country with a Cultivate Tour – a relaxed, small-group day out celebrating food, farms, flowers and the people who grow them. These carefully curated tours take you behind the scenes of the Darling Downs, Southern & Western Downs, Lockyer Valley and South Burnett, visiting fascinating farms, interesting gardens and quirky local gems, many that are rarely open to the public.

On this journey east of Toowoomba, you’ll travel scenic country roads, meet passionate food producers and gardeners and discover how the region really works. Along the way, you’ll be treated to a home-baked morning tea and a relaxed sit-down lunch at a special location – giving you time to savour the flavours, enjoy the surroundings and connect with fellow travellers who share your love of food, gardens and regional life.

Cultivate tours are coordinated by Brian Sams of Wattletree Horticulture and Wendy Allen from Activate Events, who bring backgrounds in horticulture and agriculture, and a genuine passion for the regions they showcase. Their knowledge, connections and easy-going style mean you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the journey.

You’ll explore local produce farms, wander through inspiring country gardens, learn a few commercial growing secrets, and share the experience with like-minded people who love to visit different places and learn the stories behind them.

With pick-up and drop-off from the Toowoomba Visitor Information Centre or Highfields, all you need to do is relax and enjoy the ride.

Cultivate Tours fill quickly, so early booking is essential.

If a tour is booked out, email us to join the waiting list as often places become available.
