Escape the city and experience the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers from a different perspective on this fully catered, full-day country garden tour. While part of the iconic Carnival program, these tours venture beyond the city limits, showcasing exceptional award-winning gardens in the rural areas surrounding Toowoomba.

Perfect for garden lovers, curious travellers, and anyone who enjoys a great day out, this tour blends beauty, learning, and indulgence in equal measure.

Travel through the countryside and quiet villages as you explore some of the region’s most impressive prize-winning country gardens, including the Regional Grand Champion and Regional Reserve Grand Champion gardens – each with its own story, style, and surprises.

Your day is hosted by local horticulturist Brian Sams and event specialist Wendy Allen, who bring the gardens and the region to life with expert knowledge, stories, and behind-the-scenes insights.

Along the way you’ll:

  • Peek behind the garden gate and discover insider tips and secrets from passionate garden owners
  • Enjoy the beauty of rolling rural landscapes, charming villages, and local agriculture
  • Indulge in a home-baked morning tea and a delicious sit-down lunch
  • Learn about the history, culture, and character of the region as you travel
  • Get personalised gardening advice, with Brian on hand to identify plants and answer your questions

Important to note:
This tour focuses exclusively on country gardens in the rural surrounds of Toowoomba and does not include gardens within the city.

Tour pickup location:
Toowoomba Visitors Information Centre, James Street, Toowoomba  (An alternative pick up location at Highfields is also available)

Full day – 8.30am to 5.30pm with Morning Tea & Lunch included

Cancellation policy:    Cancellations must be received in writing (email to info@activateevents.net.au).  Due to expenses already incurred, a $50 administration fee will be deducted from bookings if the cancellation is made after 1 September 2026. No refund will be given when the cancellation is made less than one week prior to the event or on the day of the event unless under exceptional circumstances.  A written explanation regarding an exceptional circumstance must be received via email or post prior to the day of the tour.  Activate Events & Wattletree Horticulture reserve the right to decide if a refund will be issued under exceptional circumstances and no further correspondence will be entered into.
